Nelumbo ‘Shin’nyoren’ ist ein japanischer Lotos von außergewöhnlicher Klarheit und formaler Präzision.

Der Name wird häufig mit „Lotos der absoluten Wirklichkeit“ übersetzt und verweist auf das Ideal vollkommener Form – ein Anspruch, den diese Sorte in ihrem Erscheinungsbild bemerkenswert konsequent erfüllt.

Empfohlen werden Pflanzgefäße ab 50 Litern Volumen, in denen sich die Pflanze stabil entwickelt und ihre charakteristische Blütenform vollständig ausbilden kann.

Diese Sorte ist außergewöhnlich schwer zu vermehren. In manchen Jahren stehen keine, in anderen nur einzelne Rhizome zur Verfügung. Entsprechend selten ist ‘Shin’nyoren’ im Handel zu finden.

Nelumbo ‘Shin’nyoren’

Nelumbo ‘Shin’nyoren’ is a Japanese lotus distinguished by exceptional clarity and formal perfection.

The name is often translated as “Lotus of Absolute Reality,” reflecting an ideal of perfect form that this variety consistently embodies.

The pure white flowers are large, calm in structure, and remarkably well balanced. The petals are rounded, precisely shaped, and slightly concave, creating a harmonious and composed appearance. Even the green-white receptacle integrates seamlessly into the overall form.

‘Shin’nyoren’ belongs to the larger lotus varieties and requires sufficient space to express its full potential.

Planting containers with a minimum volume of 50 liters are recommended to support stable growth and complete floral development.

This variety is extremely difficult to propagate. In some years, no rhizomes are available at all; in others, only very few plants can be offered. As a result, ‘Shin’nyoren’ is considered exceptionally rare.

This Japanese lotus lives up to its name. Translated from Japanese, Shin'nyoren means lotus of absolute reality. We have never seen such a perfect, beautiful, perfectly shaped white flower.

The flowers are perfectly white! The large petals are well-shaped, round and slightly hollowed out. Even the pistil is perfectly green and white and perfects the ensemble. It doesn't get any better.

The lotus of absolute reality is a large plant that feels really good in containers with a capacity of 50 liters or more.

Unfortunately, Nelumbo Shin'nyoren reproduces extremely hard and there are years in which we cannot even make a second rhizome. Rarely are there more than two plants that we can put on sale.
